About Us

Great Yarmouth Racecourse is part of the Arena Racing Company (ARC), which operates 16 racecourses and two greyhound stadiums across the UK.
This modern-day course is home to a summer season of 23 flat race meetings attracting top name jockeys, and up-and-coming two-year-old horses, some of which go on to compete and win valuable races as far afield as the USA and Brazil.
The most valuable race is the John Musker Fillies' Stakes which is run over a mile and a quarter during the flagship Eastern Festival meeting in September. This race is the second day of the three-day festival, Three-day passes are available to buy.
Horses and jockeys race to a flying finish at Great Yarmouth Racecourse.
Ladies dressed for the occasion enjoy a race day at Great Yarmouth Racecourse.
The programme, aimed at attracting a variety of racegoers, also includes a families day, ladies night and evening racing with live music afterwards, whilst the course is also a popular venue for weddings and corporate hospitality.
Great Yarmouth is proud of its racing heritage, with the first events recorded more than 300 years ago in 1715.

The original course was close to the Nelson’s Monument at South Denes. Its popularity was boosted by the coming of the railways, and it was moved to its current North Denes site in 1920 to make way for the then buoyant fishing industry.

Continual improvements have included the new Lord Nelson Grandstand with bars, a restaurant and hospitality boxes.
