Which enclosure should I choose?
Premier Enclosure or Grandstand & Paddock. Both have access to the 2 large viewing grandstands, 4 public bars, extensive public lawns trackside, fast food court, children's playground, family tea room, winners' enclosure and the parade ring. If you opt for the Premier Enclosure you will also have access to the Trafalgar Restaurant, Hoops Champagne Marquee and Lawn, Victory Bar, and the premier lawn and patio to the front of the new Lord Nelson Grandstand.
Is parking available?
Yes. There is a charge of £2 per vehicle or it is free if you have purchased your badge in advance.
Do children have to pay?
No. Supervised children under the age of 16 are admitted free of charge.
Can dogs be brought onto the course?
No. The only exceptions are guide dogs or assistance dogs for those with a registered disability.
Can food and drink be brought onto the course?
Yes. Picnics are permitted on the lawns to the front of the Grandstand & Paddock stands but they are not permitted on the Premier or Hoops lawns. We do not allow alcohol to be brought onto the racecourse and you may be politely asked to show the contents of any bags that you bring on site.
Are BBQs allowed?
No. This policy is strictly enforced due to the health risks to others and the intrusive nature of the smoke.
Where can I eat?
Premier dining can be enjoyed in the Trafalgar Restaurant offering 3 course meals, a table for the duration of your visit and views over the parade ring and race track. Hoops Champagne Marquee offers a bar menu including a hot dish of the day. If you prefer something in a hurry then there is an excellent range of fast food options on the rear public lawns including fish & chips, burgers, hog roast, shellfish and sweets. Families may wish to use the family tea room alongside the children's playground where a range of light snacks and meals are served.
Are there facilities for disabled customers?
Yes. There are two reserved viewing areas alongside the racetrack and disabled toilets on all three floors of the Lord Nelson Grandstand which includes a public lift.
Is a dress code in operation?
In the Premier and Hospitality Enclosures we do not allow any sports kit or ripped jeans to be worn. We do not insist upon collared shirts, ties or suits and training shoes are permitted as are tailored shorts - we want you to relax in comfortable clothing in quality surroundings; after all it is your day to enjoy.
What time do the gates open?
Typically two hours before the first race but please check our website or the local press.
Can I transfer between enclosures?
Yes. There will an additional fee to pay through the office to go from Grandstand & Paddock to Premier.

Is there seating available?
There is seating throughout the site including plastic garden furniture, picnic benches, park benches and bar tables and chairs. However, on busier days there will not be a seat for everyone so you may wish to consider bringing a picnic rug, collapsible chair or purchasing one through the office.
Are there any facilities for children?
Yes. There is a well equipped playground by the family tea room. In addition, we provide a children’s entertainer during the school breaks and on Family Fun Days there will be other entertainment including bouncy castles, donkey rides and face painting.
Is there a cash machine at the racecourse?
Yes. In the Vice Admiral Bar of the Lord Nelson Grandstand which is accessible to all.
How do I find the racecourse?
By road we are to the North of Great Yarmouth located near to the village of Caister-On-Sea. Follow the yellow AA signs. The train station is only 1 mile from the racecourse and has a direct link from Norwich. Buses run regularly from Great Yarmouth Market Place and the Sea Front during the summer months.
Photography at the racecourse
Racegoers are permitted to take photographs for their own personal use in public areas of the racecourse but are not permitted to use them for commercial purposes without prior permission from the racecourse office and provision of press accreditation.

PLEASE DO NOT USE FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY NEAR THE HORSES.

Please be aware that your photograph may be taken whilst you are on the racecourse. These photographs may be used in any of the media used by Northern Racing for promotion purposes. They may also be circulated to the media and used by other relevant organisations in their publications.
Do You Have Baby Changing Facilities?
Yes, there are baby changing facilities in the ladies toilet by the children’s playground and on each of the 3 floors in the Lord Nelson Grandstand.
